Pravej Ongartsittigul, SEC Senior Assistant Secretary-General, spoke at the seminar “SEC regulations on ETFs” at Stock Exchange of Thailand, January 27, 2010. Discussions cover the issues of economic and social outlook and impacts on global capital market, the SEC ‘s strategy to promote product innovations including ETFs under its 2010-2012 Strategic Plan and the Capital Market Development Master Plan.
The Capital Market Supervisory Board on January 28, 2010 resolved to allow establishment of gold ETFs, to increase investment choices and encourage participation of retail gold shops. The SEC is conducting a public hearing on draft regulations on the matter (click for details - Thai version only).
