Mr. Paiboon Dumrongwaree, Assistant Secretary-General of
the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), together with Mr. Pavich
Kesavawong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Climate Change and
Environment (DCCE), Mr. Somchai Lertlarpwasin, Assistant Governor of the
Financial Institutions Policy Group, the Bank of Thailand (BOT), and Mrs.
Ratvalee Anantananont, Executive Vice President, Head of Sustainable
Development Group, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) – serving collectively
as representatives of the Thailand Taxonomy Board – co-organized a seminar
titled “Thailand
Taxonomy 2.0: Driving the Thai Economy towards Sustainability.” Taking place on
27 May 2025 in Bangkok, the event aimed to enhance understanding of the
Thailand Taxonomy and promote its use as a reference tool for defining and
classifying environmentally sustainable activities.
The opening
ceremony featured a video presentation highlighting key messages from the
Thailand Taxonomy Board. In his remarks, Mr. Thawatchai Pittayasophon, SEC
Deputy Secretary-General, emphasized the importance of the Thailand Taxonomy
and its application in the capital market, particularly as a reference for
issuing sustainable debt instruments to enhance their credibility and investor
confidence. He also outlined the SEC's supporting measures to encourage broader
adoption of the Thailand Taxonomy.
