SEC public hearing on draft regulations relating to annual fee regime for intermediaries

Wednesday 18 September 2019 | No. 117 / 2019

Bangkok, 18 September 2019 – The SEC is seeking public comments on draft regulations relating to annual fee regime for intermediaries, which aim to improve equality for all licensees and the ease of doing business.

The SEC proposed to amend the regulations relating to annual fee regime for intermediaries to improve equality of fee rate among intermediaries operating the same activities and to ease the burden of intermediaries by revising the period of fee payment. The public hearing on the principles for amending the rules took place from 17 July to 20 August 2019.

The proposed amendments have taken into account the public comments gathered from the previous hearing whereby the calculation of the fees on Thai government bond dealing activities would be revised to reduce the burden on bond dealers and support national monetary and fiscal policy.

The consultation paper is available at www.sec.or.th/hearing. Stakeholders and interested parties are welcome to submit comments through the website, or contact Intermediaries Policy Department via email: insec@sec.or.th. The public hearing ends on 30 September 2019.
