Wednesday 30 April 2025 | No. 112 / 2025

Bangkok, 30 April 2025 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched the "Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative” 2025, Phase 2, under the Ministry of Finance's Financial Literacy Development Action Plan for the years 2022-2027. In this regard, capital and digital asset market operators, as well as the associations or clubs related to the financial and investment sectors are invited to join forces in providing financial and investment knowledge to the public. Interested parties can express their intention to participate in the Initiative from today until 30 May, 2025.

The "Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative” has been continuously undertaken, with the year 2025 marking its third year of implementation since its first launch in 2023. The Initiative has received positive feedback from both securities and digital asset market operators (business operators). Since the project’s inception, a total of 43 organizations has taken part in the knowledge dissemination activities. In 2024, 22 organizations joined the Initiative and contributed to providing financial and investment knowledge to the Thai public over 12 million times. Throughout the project's period, participants have submitted their education promotion activities reports according to the pre-determined plan to the SEC, the information of which has also been publicized on the SEC website.

In 2025, business operators in the capital and digital asset markets as well as associations and clubs related to the financial and investment sectors are therefore invited to participate in the Initiative, to further strengthen engagement in the endeavor to empower the general public with financial and investment literacy. This year, two additional award categories have been included, i.e., one for the business operators who have cumulatively received all categories of awards throughout the project's duration, and the other for the associations and clubs in the financial and investment sectors.

Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, SEC Secretary-General said, "Cultivating financial literacy is essential and requires continuity. This year, the "Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative” has entered into its third year of implementation. We do hope that this year will be another year of work in partnership with the business operators and organizations in the capital and digital asset markets in an effort to enhance the public’s knowledge and understanding about personal finance and investment through a variety of online and face-to-face educational activities. The ultimate goal is to promote the capital market to become a facilitating option for investors in their attainment of financial well-being as well as safeguard against frauds and scams. The SEC therefore would like to invite all parties in the capital and digital asset markets to take part in the Initiative to reinforce capital market mechanisms for knowledge sharing so as to encourage adjustments in the Thai people's behaviors in their financial management for retirement."

For the implementation of Phase 2 of the Initiative in 2025, the SEC has adopted a guideline requiring the Initiative’s participants to present an "education promotion plan" in full detail and in compliance with the specified conditions. Those participants who present their education promotion plans and meet the evaluation criteria will receive an honorary plaque and a special logo from the SEC. This special logo can be used in the promotion of their educational activities or in any organization's public relations materials.

The 2025 honorary plaques are classified into five categories: (1) Public Favorite Award, (2) Sustainability Award, (3) Creativity Award, (4) The Financial Empowerment Award for those who have cumulatively received all three categories of awards throughout the project’s duration from 2024 to 2027, and (5) The Excellence Synergy Award for financial and investment associations and clubs. The 4th and 5th categories are newly-added awards this year.

Business operators, associations, and clubs wishing to apply for participation in the project can submit an application form expressing intention to take part in the 2025 project, Phase 2, from today until 30 May 2025, and submit a detailed education promotion plan, as required by the SEC, via an online form by 15 August 2025, for the SEC's consideration.

The project’s further details and related forms can be obtained at the website Thai educationcampaign phase 2.
