SEC receives the Best Conduct of Business Regulator in Asia Pacific Award from the Asian Banker

Bangkok, 28 May 2025 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) received, in Jakarta, Indonesia on 21 May 2025, the Best Conduct of Business Regulator in Asia Pacific Award under the Regulation and Supervision Awards Programme 2025, organized by The Asian Banker, in recognition of the organization’s outstanding efforts in enhancing transparency and integrity in the capital market.


With Mrs. Sittasri Nakasiri, SEC Assistant Secretary-General (Strategy and Planning), representing the SEC Thailand in the Award presentation ceremony, the Asian Banker’s Award was presented to the SEC Thailand in recognition of the organization’s remarkable efforts in the areas, such as strengthening good governance in the capital market and rigorous enforcement actions on market misconducts to protect investors. Moreover, the SEC Thailand has notably fostered innovations and regulatory initiatives for the capital market, e.g., new forms of fund raising through digital channels, information disclosures via SEC Open Data system to enhance market transparency, collaboration with the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) for coordinated regulations on high-frequency trading and the launch of practical guidelines for finfluencers to ensure the appropriate dissemination of financial information, etc. 

The SEC Thailand also has a significant role in solidifying collaboration with international regulatory bodies, such as the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), reflecting the organization’s commitment to further strengthening competitiveness of the Thai capital market for enhanced accessibility to sources of funds by business operators and investors. 

Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, SEC Secretary-General, said: “The SEC continuously emphasizes the importance of capital market research as a foundation for designing the SEC policy directions that are appropriate for Thailand’s context, in the aspects of both regulation and development of the capital market, a driving mechanism for the country’s sustainable economic growth.”
