SEC hosts the 10th Asia Pacific Regulators’ Dialogue on Market Surveillance (ARMS) 2025

Bangkok, 27 June 2025 - The Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand (SEC) hosted the 10th Asia Pacific Regulators’ Dialogue on Market Surveillance (ARMS) 2025 from 23 to 24 June 2025 in Bangkok to provide a forum for sharing of knowledge and experiences on supervision of securities, derivatives and digital asset trading. The event was attended by representatives from capital market regulatory agencies across the Asia-Pacific region.

Organized regularly on an annual basis, this year’s ARMS was hosted by the SEC, Thailand, with Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Thawatchai Pittayasophon giving the opening remarks. The dialogue was also attended by Assistant Secretaries-General Mrs. Pattanaporn Tripipat and Pol. Lt. Col. Sutthisak Jitpimonmas alongside representatives from eight other capital market regulatory agencies across the Asia-Pacific region, i.e., Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Capital Market Authority (CMA), Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Securities Commission, Malaysia (SC), Financial Services Agency (FSA), Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong (SFC).

Key issues discussed in the meeting include (1) the Use and Challenges of Technologies in Surveillance and Enforcement, (2) Emerging Trends of Market Misconduct, and (3) Digital Assets: Regulatory, Surveillance, and Enforcement, upon which the meeting participants exchanged their respective surveillance information and experiences. The meeting also reflected challenges, difficulties and obstacles faced by each jurisdiction, provided suggestions for solutions and promoted mutual cooperation to strengthen market surveillance efforts of member jurisdictions for enhanced efficiency in line with current market situations.

The Asia-Pacific Regulators’ Dialogue on Market Surveillance (ARMS) is a forum of securities regulators in the Asia-Pacific region convened to share and exchange views, experiences and knowledge on market surveillance issues as well as enforcement measures for market misconduct in relation to securities, derivatives and digital asset trading.
