SEC provides an update on the report of cyberattack on digital asset exchange

Bangkok, 11 September 2025 – Mr. Anek Yooyuen, Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), said that regarding the information appearing on online media about cyberattack on a digital asset exchange,* and from preliminary consideration, there are indications and suspicions as to whether the case concerns Bitkub Online Co., Ltd. (BITKUB) and whether the referenced documents are authentic.

Therefore, the SEC has conducted an inspection of BITKUB, with the primary focus on ensuring the security of clients’ assets. It was found that as of 8 September 2025, customers’ digital assets remain safe and intact. Regarding the documents mentioned in the online media, the SEC is expediting the process of verifying the facts.

The public is advised to follow updates from the SEC and through the official communication channels of business operators. If any irregularities are found concerning digital assets deposited with service providers, please report promptly to the respective business operators. Moreover, if there are any leads regarding suspicious activities, please notify the SEC Complaint Center via Hotline 1207 or the SEC’s official Facebook page: “สำนักงาน กลต.” or SEC Live Chat at the SEC website.
