SEC Launches 'Mutual Funds Insight' Microsite: A Center of Mutual Fund Information and Services

Bangkok, 8 September 2023 The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) has launched a new microsite called "Mutual Funds Insight" to serve as a platform for disseminating knowledge and providing services related to mutual funds for investors and interesting public. This microsite is available on the SEC’s website - www.sec.or.th starting from today onwards.



Waratchya Srimachand, SEC Deputy Secretary-General, stated “The SEC aims to support investors in achieving financial well-being, enhancing their knowledge and understanding, and providing easy access to investment-related information. To fulfill this mission, the SEC developed the "Mutual Funds Insight" microsite to serve as a center of knowledge, services, and tools related to mutual fund planning and investment. In this regard, the SEC welcomes investors and related parties to utilize information and services via this platform, such as assessment of the adequacy or the need of savings, investment allocation, service providers, dollar cost averaging (“DCA”) investment services, and mutual fund comparison by using the SEC Fund Check tool.

The "Mutual Funds Insight" microsite consists of four key sections :

          (1) Investment planning: Proving information on tools to assist investors to understand themselves better and plan their investments more effectively, such as tools for investment allocation, tax deduction calculation, and post-retirement financial adequacy calculation;

          (2) Mutual fund information: Helping investors to understand various types of mutual funds and providing the SEC Fund Check tool, which was developed by the SEC, to enable the public to compare and choose suitable funds for their investments;

          (3) Service providers: Providing information on DCA service providers and portfolio wealth advisors;

          (4) Updates on mutual fund-related activities: Providing information on trainings and seminars, and new mutual funds.

Additionally, investors can keep updates on information and the list of business operators participating in the "Number 5 Savings” Project," a joint initiative by the SEC and the mutual fund industry launched on September 5, 2023 with the aim at boosting the expansion of mutual fund investor base through the increase of investment knowledge and promoting mutual funds as an attractive savings option at the "Mutual Funds Insight" microsite.
