SEC adjusts a substitution holiday for securities companies and derivatives business operators

Friday 10 November 2023 | No. 209 / 2023

Bangkok, 10 November 2023 – This is with reference to the Cabinet’s resolution on 24 October 2023, approving a deferral of a substitution holiday for the year 2023 and an addition of a special holiday for the year 2024 to stimulate economy through domestic consumption.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has considered it is appropriate to change the substitution holiday for New Year’s Day from 2 January 2024 to 29 December 2023, and to confirm that 30 December 2024 remains a business day for securities companies and derivatives business operators. This adjustment aligns with the holiday schedule of financial institutions and prevents undue cost burdens on securities companies and derivatives business operators.
