SEC announces the list of business participants in the Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative in Q1/2024

Bangkok, 29 April 2024 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched the Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative, teaming up with businesses in the capital market to enhance financial literacy and investment skills for investors and the public. The Initiative is part of the Financial Literacy Development Action Plan for the years 2022-2027 under the Ministry of Finance. Since July 2023, in the first phase, 38 securities companies and digital asset business operators have participated in the Initiative, sharing financial and investment knowledge to more than 10 million people nationwide. 

In the first quarter of 2024, which marks the final quarter of the Initiative’s Phase 1 (July 2023 – March 2024), 10 business operators joined the activities aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills in finance and investment for investors and the public. Having met the criteria for recognition and awarded certificates from the SEC, these participating businesses are as follows:   

1) Maybank Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited 

2) Phillip Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited 

3) Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd.  

4) RHB Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited 

5) Lief Capital Asset Management Co., Ltd.  

6) Xspring Asset Management Co., Ltd. 

7) Treasurist Mutual Fund Brokerage Securities Co., Ltd.  

8) Avenger Planner Investment Advisory Securities Co., Ltd.   

9) Bitkub Online Company Limited   

10) Merkle Capital Co., Ltd. 

In addition, other nine business operators that also met the criteria for recognition and were awarded certificates from the SEC have conducted educational activities for investors and the public on a continuing basis during the first quarter of 2024. They are:    

1) Krungthai Xspring Securities Co., Ltd.  

2) Krungsri Securities Public Company Limited    

3) Krungsri Capital Securities Public Company Limited    

4) Trinity Securities Co., Ltd.   

5) Wealth Magik Securities Co., Ltd.   

6) Krungsri Asset Management   

7) Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance Public Company Limited    

8) GMO-Z.COM Crytonomics (Thailand) Co., Ltd.   

9) Government Savings Bank 

“Phase 1 of the Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative marks another important step in the Thai capital market. Businesses and relevant associations in the market have demonstrated their genuine commitment to promoting financial literacy and investment knowledge among Thai investors and the public. This Initiative aims to empower individuals to enhance their quality of life and contribute to creating a financially aware society. However, achieving shared goals requires dedication and continuity. The SEC sincerely appreciates everyone's efforts in continuously disseminating financial and investment knowledge. Phase 1 of the Public Empowerment through Capital Market Knowledge Initiative ran from July 2023 to March 2024, a total of 38 securities and digital asset businesses participated in the activities under the Initiative, including disseminating financial and investment knowledge, as well as raising awareness and preventing frauds for over 10 million Thai people nationwide. The SEC is considering an extension into Phase 2, which will include honoring businesses that comply with the criteria for knowledge sharing activities for the public.
