The SEC announced that it has upgraded the SEC Check First application, an investor assistance tool, to better support investors and the public in verifying the names of capital market service providers under SEC supervision, as well as in searching for approved investment products (securities/digital assets) to support informed investment decisions.
The application also enables users to check the list of individuals or service providers who may be misunderstood as being under SEC supervision through the Investor Alert feature, helping investors make informed investment decisions or select investment related services.
The newly added features in the SEC Check First application include:
(1) Display of the latest information on individuals or juristic persons that are not service providers under SEC supervision (Latest Investor Alert). The Investor Alert is a regularly updated list on the SEC’s website that compiles the names of individuals or service providers who may be misunderstood as being under SEC supervision;
(2) A newly added channel for reporting investment scams, along with a Chatbot function to assist users with general inquiries.
Mr. Anek Yooyuen, Deputy Secretary-General and Spokesperson of the SEC, stated: “The SEC developed the SEC Check First application as an accessible preliminary tool for the public to verify investment-related information. We have continued to enhance the application to better meet user needs. The newly added ‘Latest Investor Alert’ feature and the reporting channel will facilitate access to up to date information even more conveniently. We encourage the public and investors to download the SEC Check First application, which enables users to search and verify information easily and efficiently. The SEC will continue developing and improving tools that help ensure investors have sufficient and timely information to support their investment decisions.”
