SEC, OIC and BOT invite the public to take part in designing board games as learning tools on finance, investment and insurance

Tuesday 16 June 2026 | No. 126 / 2026

Bangkok, 16 June 2026 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in collaboration with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) and the Bank of Thailand (BOT), is inviting the public to take part in the design and development of learning materials on finance, investment and insurance for youth through the “MASTER PROTECT & WEALTH BOARD GAME HACKATHON 2026.” Applications are now open and will be accepted until 10 July 2026.

The board game-based learning materials will cover three dimensions of financial planning: money management and financial discipline (Money Management), wealth building through investment (Wealth), and risk management through insurance (Protection). The activity is open to members of the public of all ages with creative ideas, including students, teachers, educators, creators, game developers and those interested in finance. Participants will have the opportunity to help design board games that allow players to practice analyzing, planning and making decisions based on simulated situations through enjoyable and easy-to-understand gameplay, with experiences that can be applied in everyday life.

Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, SEC Secretary-General, said: “This collaboration among the three regulatory agencies through this board game-based activity will help promote the further development of creative learning materials that can be passed on at the individual, family and societal levels. The initiative aims to promote life skills in money management, investment and risk management, which are important to long-term financial well-being. Board games can serve as a tool to help the public learn about and better understand finance and investment, helping them get started with investing in an appropriate manner

and allocate part of their savings for investment within their acceptable risk levels. This, in turn, can support wealth building and the achievement of individual financial goals. The board games will also be used as learning materials in educational institutions, libraries and other learning spaces to help instill good financial and investment discipline among Thai people from school age onward.”

Those interested may apply for the “MASTER PROTECT & WEALTH BOARD GAME HACKATHON 2026” by scanning the QR code. Applications will be accepted from 15 June to 10 July 2026.
