Thursday 29 May 2014 | No. 77 / 2014

Bangkok, May 29, 2014 ? The SEC is seeking public comment on 2 draft notifications to facilitate offering of mutual funds set up by Thai investment management companies under the ASEAN Collective Investment Schemes (Thai ASEAN CIS). To begin with, the first one provides an exemption of unit holding limit up to one-third of all units sold (the One-Third Rule) for Thai ASEAN CIS in the portion offered to non-Thai nationals and omnibus account in other ASEAN countries to non-Thai nationals and omnibus account. Besides, measures against any person or group of persons wrongfully using Thai ASEAN CIS for their own benefit. The second one prescribes a due date for payment of unit redemption within 7 days which is in line with ASEAN standards.

The consultation paper is available on www.sec.or.th. Stakeholders and interested parties are welcome to submit comments through the website, or facsimile number at 0-2263-6332 or email address at kunpatu@sec.or.th until June 10, 2014.
