SEC Secretary-General Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol said: “Doing good deeds for motherland can start small with any basic thing within one’s organization. The SEC, for example, introduces Vibhavadi Zero Waste Campaign using our office building on Vibhavadi Road as the starting point. We invite listed companies, our neighbors on Vibhavadi Road, to join the campaign which we hope will stimulate more efficient waste management within their organizations and reduction of waste that cannot be reused or recycled to the minimum. We also hope our collective efforts will set a good example and inspire further green actions among other organizations.”

Vibhavadi Zero Waste Campaign is created under the Market Governance Promotion Initiative in Celebration of the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s Coronation, which the SEC and 12 other capital market organizations co-launched on 14 August 2019 to encourage organizations and personnel in the capital market to make useful contributions based on their respective roles and duties to drive the Thai capital market towards sustainability in line with the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals (SDG). The Initiative also aims to build multilateral collaborative network to support the signatories of the Declaration of Intent to join the Initiative in their efforts to make tangible, positive contributions.     

Vibhavadi Zero Waste Campaign is an important kick-off towards practical activities of Thailand Responsible Business Network (TRBN) – a joint initiative of the Thai Listed Companies Association, the SEC and seven other organizations.  

The SEC will officially launch Vibhavadi Zero Waste Campaign on 4 December 2019 to celebrate the Thai Environment Day. Listed companies whose office premises or projects are located on Vibhavadi Road are all welcome to join the launch.
