The proposed amendments aim to improve the rules and guidelines for operating digital asset businesses to be more timely and appropriate in line with the industry developments and the current market environment. While digital asset businesses are innovative and constantly related to technological advancement and financial innovation, SEC continues to promote the optimal use of digital assets to support the national economic and social development and to ensure proper investor protection.

The public hearing is conducted on proposed regulations governing digital asset businesses in three major areas, namely (1) improvement of business operation in such areas as data storage system, management system, custody of clients’ assets and sale promotion advertising, (2) reporting of duty performance of introducing broker agents, and (3) establishment of compliance unit of digital asset business operators to be in line with the regulations governing securities business operators and derivatives business operators.
