SEC launches a “Start to Grow” microsite, the fundraising information station, as a gift for SMEs/Startups and public

Bangkok, 24 December 2020 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) launches a “Start to Grow” microsite, the information station about fundraising through capital market for SMEs, startups, and interested public. It is available at www.sec.or.th/starttogrow. This is a part of the project called “New Year Gift 2021” from Ministry of Finance and related organizations under the Ministry.

Ms. Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol, Secretary-General of SEC said: “SEC has launched information station microsite about capital market fundraising under the name “Start to grow” (www.sec.or.th/starttogrow) for SMEs, Startups and interested public. The presentation and functionality of this microsite focus on the simplicity and nice-looking features and contains easy to understand contents. It is one of SEC’s missions to help SMEs and Startups to easily access funding sources in capital market. Specifically, the SMEs’ and Startups’ fundraisings need to be economical, suit the business needs, and do not incur the unreasonable costs comparable to their size of business.”

“SEC prepares microsite “Start to Grow” as a gift for SMEs, Startups and public to learn and understand the fundraising mechanism and be able to raise fund in capital market, while investors can find out information about the qualifications of potential SMEs and Startups that would be valuable choices for investment. In addition, Start to Grow microsite is one of the “New Year Gift 2021” projects from Ministry of Finance and related organizations and in accordance with cabinet resolution on 22 December 2020.” said General-Secretary of SEC.   

Start to Grow Microsite consists of 6 main topics: (1) “Self-Detection,” a tool for SMEs and Startups to find reasonable and appropriate methods for fundraising that match the needs and size of its business; (2) “fundraising tools” to make ones know and understand fundraisings in different forms and channels through an easy and simple presentation and have clear pictures about fundraising process; (3) “fundraising resources” contains necessary information that fundraisers must know along with teaching materials in form of various videos designed especially for SMEs and Startups; (4) “SEC Event” or important calendar events that SEC will hold or had held to enhance potential growth of SMEs and Startups; (5) “fundraising clinic” in which SMEs and public can ask any questions about investment; and (6) “SEC and SME” that provides the information of SEC’s missions for SMEs and Startups.
