SEC joins panel discussion on "Creating a Safer Digital Future for Thailand"

16 May 2025

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), represented by Ms. Archinee Pattamasukhon, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of Complaint Center, joined a panel discussion on the topic, “Creating a Safer Digital Future for Thailand,” organized by Meta and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), with Police General Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, delivering the opening remarks. During the event, Ms. Archinee highlighted the SEC’s role in protecting investors from cyber threats, particularly financial and investment fraud that is becoming increasingly complex and rapidly evolving. The SEC has been proactively promoting awareness and knowledge of investment threats through collaboration with both public and private sector partners to address emerging threat challenges, as well as supporting the development of mechanisms to help businesses and agencies in the capital market and digital asset market protect businesses from digital threats. The event took place on 16 May 2025 at the Crime Suppression Division, Bangkok.

Furthermore, the SEC places importance on integrating in-depth data from the private sector for use in investment threat surveillance, promoting the use of technology to screen information that may cause harm, and supporting the public's ability to make investment decisions with greater prudence and safety, including collaboration with Meta. These efforts serve as an important mechanism for enhancing financial security and creating a safe and reliable online ecosystem for Thai people.
