The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
participated in a panel discussion to educate the public under the project
“Building Digital Resilience Among Thais Against Online Threats by 1212 ETDA,”
organized by the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA). Mrs. Rashaya Sani Senior
Professional Social Development Officer, Acting Provincial Social Development
and Human Security Officer, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, delivered the opening
remarks under the theme “Outsmart Online Scams: Avoid Traps, Block Criminal
Pathways.”
The
event featured a panel discussion on “Keeping Up with Online Threats: Stay Safe
Every Day,” with Mr. Sethawat Phutrakul, Assistant Director
of the Capital Market Education Department of the SEC, participating as a
panelist. He addressed common forms of online investment scams, highlighted
increasingly sophisticated fraudulent schemes, and explained the “investment
scam pathway” to raise public awareness and enhance self-protection, and emphasized
the SEC’s role in investor protection and publicized the SEC assistance
channel, the Investment Scam Hotline 1207, press 22.
The event was attended by 200 participants,
most of whom were elderly, and was held on 11 June 2026 in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
