The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), led by Mr. Paiboon Dumrongwaree, Assistant Secretary-General, held discussions with the Institute of Internal Auditors of Thailand (IIA Thailand), representatives of the Internal Audit Outsource Club, and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) to exchange views on proposed amendments to the SEC’s and SET’s regulatory frameworks aimed at strengthening and promoting the roles of internal auditors. The discussion also covered IIA Thailand’s criteria and guidelines for internal audit service providers, as well as approaches for jointly developing a professional development plan. These initiatives are expected to serve as key mechanisms for enhancing good corporate governance and reinforcing confidence in Thailand’s capital market. The meeting was held at the SEC Building on 16 July 2026.
The SEC is currently seeking public comments on the proposed amendments to the regulatory framework for strengthening and promoting the roles of internal auditors until 31 July 2026.
