The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), led by Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, Secretary-General, together with SEC executives, welcomed delegates from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) during their visit to Thailand to conduct a fact-finding mission, which forms part of Thailand’s OECD accession process for OECD membership. During the meeting, the two parties also exchanged information and views on the role of good corporate governance in the capital market. The discussions took place at the SEC Building on 23–24 July 2026.
In this regard, the OECD delegation also met with three key Thai agencies, namely the SEC; the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO), led by Mr. Pitaya Uthaisang, Director of the State Enterprise Policy and Planning Bureau; and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Mrs. Salinee Phonprapai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, to discuss progress and approaches for driving Thailand’s OECD accession process. Discussions covered planning, priority-setting, and the formulation of shared objectives in an integrated manner.
The OECD delegation also engaged with various capital market stakeholders to gather a broad range of perspectives for its ongoing assessment conducted as part of Thailand’s OECD accession process.
