The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) co-organized
the Master Protect & Wealth Board Game Hackathon 2026. During the event, Miss
Sarica Apiwatthakakul, Director of the Capital Market Education Department of
the SEC, joined a panel discussion entitled “Building Financial Resilience
alongside Wealth Creation: Essential Skills for Modern Thais.” She shared
insights to support the development of board game prototypes that incorporate
concepts of insurance, saving, and investment. She also served as a mentor and a
member of the judging panel for the competition.
The event was jointly organized by the SEC, the Office
of Insurance Commission (OIC), the Bank of Thailand (BOT), the Institute of Board
Game for Learning, and the Thailand Board Game Association at Royal River
Hotel, Bangkok, on 18–19 July 2026.
The winning entry was Critter Tradewinds by Team Try
Two Tiles, selected from among the 20 finalists. The board game successfully
integrates knowledge of insurance, saving, and investment through engaging and
easy-to-understand gameplay, with the potential for further development as a
learning tool for the public.
