Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), attended a
meeting of the Subcommittee on New National Investment Development, one of four
subcommittees under the Joint Public and Private Sector Committee for Economic
Problem Solving (JPPCC). The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas,
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
The assembly approved a framework for
driving Thailand’s new investment agenda aimed at positioning the country as a
future investment and economic hub through five strategic pillars: Investment
and Industry Transformation Hub, AI & Digital Hub, Green Hub, Financial
Hub, and Medical Investment Hub. The SEC stands ready to support the Thai capital
market as a key source of financing and fundraising for businesses of all sizes
through a broad range of products, including equities, debt instruments, and
green products. These efforts will be undertaken alongside
measures to strengthen investor confidence and investor protection, enabling
the capital market to contribute to the country’s sustainable economic growth. The
meeting was held at the 150th Anniversary Building, Ministry of Finance, on 31
July 2026.
