The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), led by Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, Secretary-General, together with Mr. Anek Yuyuen, Deputy Secretary-General and spokesperson, participated in the first DE Digital Shield Forum roadshow under the theme “Safe Digital Journey: Learn Before Entering the Digital World.” The event was presided over by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Attendees also visited the SEC exhibition booth, which showcased the SEC’s role and mission in protecting investors and the public from investment scams, providing guidance on safeguarding against fraudsters and improper investment solicitations, offering channels for consultation and reporting suspected investment scam activities, and promoting investor awareness through public education campaigns. The booth also featured the SEC Check First and Investor Alert tools, which help investors verify information before making investment decisions. The event was held at Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) on 15 August 2026.
In addition, the SEC presented its proactive measures under the 3Cs concept: Consultation, Communication, and Collaboration, aimed at establishing a systematic response to investment scams in the digital environment. The SEC also highlighted its ongoing efforts to prevent the misuse of capital and digital asset markets as channels for money laundering and other financial crimes. As of 31 July 2026, more than 62,500 crypto mule accounts have been blocked through enhanced regulatory measures, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) requirements as well as the Shared Responsibility approach applicable to digital asset business operators that fail to comply with industry standards for preventing cybercrime. The SEC also introduced the upcoming Travel Rule, which will enhance transaction transparency and take effect in February 2027.
