The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), led by Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon, Secretary-General, joined the Ministry of Finance (MOF), led by Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, together with Mr. Vinit Visessuvanapoom, Director-General of the Fiscal Policy Office, in a media briefing on the progress of four draft capital market laws, comprising the draft Securities and Exchange Act (No. ...) B.E. ..., the draft Derivatives Act (No. ...) B.E. ..., the draft Trust for Transactions in Capital Market Act (No. ...) B.E. ..., and the draft Act Amending the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561, B.E. ....
The proposed amendments aim to support the long-term development of a more modern, transparent, and competitive capital market, while strengthening regulatory oversight and law enforcement. The four draft laws, all of which have already been reviewed by the Office of the Council of State and approved by the Cabinet, serve as an important mechanism for strengthening Thailand’s capital market framework and advancing its development in a tangible way. The media briefing was held at the Ministry of Finance on 25 August 2026.
