The
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), represented by Prof. Dr. Pornanong
Budsaratragoon, Secretary-General, participated in the seminar “IA Quality
through the Assessment Lens” and delivered a keynote address on the role and
importance of internal audit. She emphasized that internal audit is a key
mechanism for promoting good corporate governance, risk management, and
confidence in the capital market. In addition, she highlighted three pillars aimed
at enhancing the internal control system of listed companies: proactive risk
identification, effective internal control systems, and strong board oversight.
The
seminar featured welcoming remarks by Mr. Asadej Kongsiri, President of the
Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). Representatives from the Thai Listed
Companies Association (TLCA), as well as professionals
involved in internal audit, risk management, and corporate governance, also
attended the event. The seminar was held at Professor Sangvien Indaravijaya
Auditorium, 7th Floor, SET, on 25 August 2026.
The
seminar was organized by the SET in collaboration with the SEC and
the TLCA with the objective to raise awareness among audit committee members
and heads of internal audit functions of listed companies of the importance of
enhancing internal audit quality in line with the Global Internal Audit
Standards 2024.
