The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), represented by Mr. Paiboon Dumrongwaree, Assistant Secretary-General, participated in the “Thailand Credit Spotlight 2026: Financing Thailand’s Next Growth” seminar, organized by S&P Global Ratings and TRIS Rating. As part of the seminar, he took part in a panel discussion titled “Beyond Green: Financing Thailand’s Transition” to exchange views on promoting the credibility of Thailand’s transition finance market with representatives from S&P Global Ratings, the Government Pension Fund, and Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited. The event was held on 26 October 2026.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Paiboon highlighted the role of transition finance in achieving climate change goals and the SEC’s role in supporting the transition, including the issuance of regulations to accommodate transition bonds and Thailand amber bonds. He also emphasized the importance of referencing national and international standards, disclosing information both before and after the offering of debt securities, and appointing external reviewers, all of which are key factors in enhancing the credibility of such products. In addition, he underscored the need to develop and enhance relevant market participants’ knowledge to enable Thailand’s sustainable debt securities market to grow and effectively support the transition of the business sector in a credible and sustainable manner over the long term.
